Overview Analysis Module
Our DRG Fingerprint plot shows the relative percentage of claims in each DRG compared with the payer's average. Here, this hospital has over 2.7% more seizure and headache claims (DRG 024) than this payer's "average" hospital. The large group of blue lines between DRG 350 and 400 show that this hospital has a much lower than average number of maternity claims. The General Overview module analyzes the demographic characteristics of a payer's entire population of hospital claims for the specified years. These tools display, graphically and in tables, the distributions of demographic, billing and diagnosis data. The plots and tables can be restricted to a user-specified set of claims to understand how that subset differs from the population as a whole. For example one could restrict the plots and tables to patients with a particular DRG and review the corresponding ICD9 codes to verify the integrity of the data.
